cost-optimized solutions

1. In terms of resin: appropriately introduce internal cross-linking groups to play a role of small and broad; increase the degree of freedom of hydroxyl groups; functional monomers are evenly distributed in the core-shell.

2. Type of curing agent: appropriate use of oil-based HDI curing agent to replace part of water-based HDI curing agent.

3. Reduce the amount of resin added: Use fillers that have little effect on gloss, which can replace part of the resin, such as high-gloss barium sulfate.


How can we develop a product with a long pot life?

1. There are many factors that affect the pot life in the formula, most of which are negative; therefore, the key is to choose a resin with a long pot life.

2. Curing agent: appropriate with IPDI curing agent


What kind of film thickness is optimal?

1. The resin should be hydrophobic, usually long-chain alkane monomers are selected, which have both hydrophobicity and flexibility;

2. The hydroxyl activity of the resin needs to be appropriately reduced, usually the secondary hydroxyl activity will be slightly weaker, and the use of HPMA monomer (hydroxypropyl methacrylate) can be appropriately considered.

3. The flashing time has an impact on the thickness of the bubble-free film; Houxian5033 can achieve a bubble-free film thickness of 65um under the condition of flashing for 3 minutes.

4. Houxian5033 can meet the demand for bubble-free film thickness for different construction equipment coating.

5.The higher the drying temperature, the shorter the opening time of the paint film; Houxian5033 also has a good bubble-free film thickness in this low temperature drying.

Wet-on-wet coating solutions

1. Primer:

1) The curing agent is introduced into the epoxy segment to improve the compatibility of the curing agent and epoxy resin;

2) The fast-drying and hydrophobic epoxy emulsion facilitates the rapid surface drying of the primer and prevents the primer curing agent from migrating to the topcoat layer; it weakens the side reaction between the epoxy curing agent and the topcoat isocyanate curing agent.

3) Primer formulation: different particle sizes and oil absorption pigments and fillers are matched to ensure the compactness of the paint film; and an appropriate amine/epoxy crosslinking degree is designed to meet the needs of resistance.

2. Topcoat:

1) Select special structural resin, uniform distribution of hydroxyl groups, and reduce the generation of bubbles.

2) The resin has good compatibility with the curing agent, which improves the gloss and fullness of the paint film and avoids the disadvantages of the paint film.

3) Appropriately add high boiling point co-solvent to the topcoat formula to prolong the open time of the paint film.
